Four Seasons is the Vlasidis family table. George and Effie opened it in Powhatan in 2004, after almost two decades running family restaurants up and down the Richmond area. Today, Jimmy and Barbara run the Midlothian dining room while their mother Effie keeps the pastry case stocked with her New York-style cheesecakes and tower cakes. Same family, same recipes, four decades in.
Effie and George Vlasidis moved their family from New York
to Midlothian in 1986 and have been feeding the Richmond
area ever since. The Aquarium. Uncle George’s. The
Lighthouse Café. And in 2004, Four Seasons.
Gyros from the grill. Baked spaghetti from the oven. Country
ham at sunrise, ribeye after dark, and Effie’s pastry
case kept stocked daily.
